Carson.

As a photographer, it doesn't take long to learn that shoots rarely go as planned. This was one of those shoots. It was supposed to be sunny, and Carson was going to bring his guitar. Instead, the weather decides to send all kinds of rain. Well, there goes the guitar. I wasn't really sure what Carson was going to say—if he'd still be willing to shoot in the rain—but he never even mentioned it. Also, he was thinking brilliantly and brought reading and writing materials. This shoot was for a class assignment with the topic of "emotion."

I was so thrilled with how these photos turned out, I had trouble picking my favorites. After much debate, I ended up selecting the first photo for my assignment. I had wanted to use one of him smiling/laughing (because, as you'll see, he smiles with his entire face), but that expression didn't seem to fit the scene as well. I picked this one because I love the intense look on his face, combined with the raindrops on his jacket and the lone bench. It's as if he's waiting for something or someone. Something that may never come.
