Invitations.

I was asked by a friend of mine to help him create some invitations for Biola's senior baccalaureate service. He wanted to include Calvary Chapel and the bell tower in some way, and left that up to me. Since it's a candlelight service, he thought it would be neat to incorporate that some how, too. I shot photos of each of these and then created a series of overlays. These are my two favorites.

The Red Rountrees.

Throughout the year, Biola hosts "The Eddy" for campus musicians to come and perform at. This particular performance was by The Red Rountrees, some dear friends of mine.

Biola Swim Team.

My roommate is a swimmer, so I've become well acquainted with the swim team this year. I went and shot photos at their conference meet, and the ones below ended up being printed in the Biola University Chimes. In her last swim of the day, my roommate made her national cut, so we were all ecstatic. 

The first photo was also used in an online article, after the swimmers had returned from nationals. The second photo was used in an article recapping the conference event. The third photo shows the end of the men's relay and was used in the rail on the first page of the paper.

 

 

Snow falls and forests.

If you're at all familiar with some of my other photography, you may recognize this guy. My friend Derek is the person that I call whenever I just want to get outside and shoot for fun. On this particular day, it didn't stop snowing the entire time. The snow was lighter in the woods, though, because of the tree cover.

 

Jay Cooke State Park.

Jay Cooke State Park is located not too far from my hometown, and it's honestly one of my favorite places in Minnesota. My friend and I went out on a very cold, windy day to shoot film. I was using my father's SLR because I had left mine back at school for break. Unfortunately, my father's camera has a problem with it. and the film didn't load right, so I didn't get any of those shots. I was incredibly disappointed by that, but I was happy that I had shot digitally, too. 

New Year's Eve.

I made my brother come outside and shoot photos with me in the first few minutes of 2012. Between the cloud cover and all of the snow, it was ridiculously bright. This is a 15 second exposure, if you were curious.
